Painting workshops and courses

Painting Workshops and Courses

The painting workshops and courses will focus on colour. Therefore creating light, tone, depth and texture. All will have the opportunity to work not only from still life but also ‘en plein air’- painting out in the open directly from their chosen subject matter. This way of working helps to gain a response to the surroundings. It also enables students to develop their creativity.

Colour mixing

Probably one of the most important aspects of painting is colour mixing. Essentially only three colours plus white are necessary to a palette of hues. Therefore creating a circle is certainly included in the workshops and courses.

Artist’s work

Above all there will be the opportunity to look at other artist’s work. Including a closer look at the techniques and methods used by famous artists. Finally at the end of the workshop and course a short feedback session will take place. Giving students another opportunity to look at the work produced.

Methods and techniques

Besides developing creativity and colour mixing another aspect of the workshops and courses is to employ some of the techniques and methods of the artists we have looked at. While using traditional brushes other tools will also be explored. Discover painting with rags and knives. Creating impasto and texture.
